I would like too see more variety, and different bands on different nights. The house band is good , but maybe they need to be the house band on Fridays and a different band on Saturdays to mix it up a little.
Anonymous |2010-04-22 10:51:24
I agree

Was at brandys last night and had a hard time hearing and understanding the band on a few songs. Did anyone else have that issue ?
Anonymous |2010-04-24 12:17:10
 Didnt go because of the Country Music....Went to harlies instead to hear some Rock N Roll.....Watching Rock N Roll girls dance is way better then watching line dancers..Line dancing looks so gay!!!!!! :woohoo:
Anonymous |2010-04-27 15:15:40
B) Anyone can get up and dance to Rock & Roll music. Not everyone is talented enough to challenge line dance. Linedancer are not gay, just because you can't do it.
Anonymous  - Line Dancing? |2010-05-13 17:46:42
It would be nice if the few line dancers that get up could learn some new dances. Watching the same ones over and over is a bit boring and they all look the same after a while. Not to mention - you do look like your bored as heck and have an attitude when your up there. The dance floor is small - use dancing courtesy and if the floor is full, don't line dance to that song, stay to the outside of the floor so you can do your dance and not bump into people which causes problems, or take smaller dance steps. This isn't Joyland - use common courtesy.
adam |2010-04-29 15:32:20
line dancers take up the dance floor and have attitudes. They act like there blank dont stink....if you want to line dance go to a real country bar....my vote is to rock the house....dont want a tear in my beer from the music :)

:0 I like Country, But Really, Its Time To Let These Guys, "Bustin Loose" Go... :pinch: Change Is Good, And I Love This Bar, Ready To See Variety Of Some Good Rock N Roll,Even Country...Out With The Old, In With The New!! :silly:  :woohoo:
Anonymous |2010-04-27 01:24:10
I like to see a variety of country bands. But, I would also like to hear some good classic rock and roll like Partytime plays
Anonymous |2010-05-10 22:48:46
I think Bustin Loose is doing a good job. The drummer has a great voice and is a very fun and out going guy. The rest of the guys do a good job too. I have seen other bands here and none of them play the variety of music these guys play. They play a little of everything. Keep up the good work guys.
Anonymous  - Bring back Southern Express! |2010-05-11 17:37:34
I see the lead singer in Bustin Loose but not the same. When they were the house band the place was standing room only. You knew what to expect and there wasn't as many trouble makers in the club.
Anonymous |2010-05-11 20:18:52
Bustin' Loose is the greatest, most versatile band around the area.
Charllie |2010-05-11 22:35:12
Hmm 3 posts all of a sudden for Bustin loose I bet its their members posting. This seems really fishy if you ask me
Charllie |2010-05-11 22:36:14
Yeah if you like the same 80's country songs week after week.
Charllie  - Out with Bustin Loose in with Dark Horse |2010-05-11 22:33:55
Bustin Loose a good band but play there way too much. They always play the same songs each week and it gets old real fast. I remember these guys from years back and they are still doing the same songs. I think they need a break and play less often.Has anyone else noticed it has been a ghost town when they play. I was shocked by the applause Mike from Dark Horse got when he sang the other night. That alone should let the owners know a change needs to be made Bustin Loose never gets an applause like that.
angie |2010-05-11 22:41:01
Bustin Loose needs too go they are tired,I can't tell you how many people complain about how they can't hear them anymore .
Jenn  - I want too see more variety |2010-05-11 22:46:32
I would really like too see different bands each weekend. I see the poll on the site asking for 2 bands on 2 different nights. I think this is a great idea perhaps bands like Jaded or Kilo would be good. If the owners see this site check those bands out they are really good.

:P :P :P My vote is for Sue to bring in some women bartenders...Im so tired of having to look at the guys behind the bar...Sue, please do something with your male staff, they look terrible...
Anonymous  - 2cool4u |2010-05-11 23:09:52
:( I dont think sue even cares whats written on this site...keep wishing for the girl bartenders. LOL
Eric manager |2010-05-12 01:09:46
I will address the look of my male staff and see they look cleaner cut. Thanks for the info I appreciate it. If I have a spot open I will hire whomever is the best person for the job. It could be a girl could be a guy all depends on who is right for the job. You will see alot of exciting changes coming up in the next few weeks so keep your eyes posted. Also starting 12:01 A.M. Thursday (early Friday morning) we will be open till 3 a.m. Come party with us.
Eric manager |2010-05-12 00:55:36
This is Eric The manager of Brandys we watch the website daily and see all the comments. BTW 2 cool 4 you you ip adress is the same as the anonymous posting just before you. You may want too look at that when making multiple posts. And we have tried a few women bartenders over the years , but they never seem too work out . I am not going to fire a bartender just so you have eye candy.

I think a decision needs to be made on who the target patrons are for Brandy's. Live Country music, but all hard rock on juke box.

Clientel seems to have changed this past year. I don't enjoy coming in any more. Have only been in once the last six months and only because I wanted to see Busting Loose.

Issue may be more than band, I ordered the same drink three times a couple of weeks ago and all three times was charged different prices and this is not the first time. Also, had to wait 20 minutes for drink, waitresses need to pick it up.

Anonymous  - Maybe More to Consider..... |2010-05-12 16:49:52
All of you can say what you want, but Sue and Eric really should sit down with a successful club owner (of any culture of music) and get some real insight of how to run and manage a club that has live music. There are a lot of changes that could be made to boost the attendance and appeal more to the clientele and although the band is a big part of picture, I don't believe it is the biggest issue at Brandy's. It's anything from poor waitresses that are slow and change the prices of each drink they sell and pressure people to run tabs and then complain when people run out and not pay them because they are so slow, to a small dance floor that can't accommodate line dancers and freestyle dancers, to the type of large tables taking up too much space, to much lighting during the band hours, hiring a Country/Southern Rock band and have head banging headache music on the jukebox during breaks, and YES, the band and the type of music they play and not keeping their song list refreshed with b...

I couldn't agree anymore. You are so right. The dance floor needs to be bigger. It does not accommodate the freestyle dancer or the line dancers. Also the head banging music on the jukebox is terrible.
Anonymous  - re: Maybe More to Consider..... |2010-05-12 16:53:29
both recent house bands at Brandy's. However - posting polls that only acquire the opinions of a minority of the clientele that visit this sight is not the way to handle or manage the business.

Sue and Eric do need to decide what type of club they want Brandy's Lounge to be and cater to that brand. It is very hard to mix different types of music in one club. Very few clubs have been successful in doing so and not to mention, unless they have a house PA system, it will be very hard for the bands to set their sound each night when they have to set up and tear down that often, not to mention the wear and tear of the facility dragging equipment in and out and the patrons having to sit through sound checks and dance floor full of equipment during set up and tear downs.

There's a lot to keep in mind when you consider rotating bands in and out too often. Don't get me wrong, variety is good and a necessity to keep the club fresh and give time for the bands to keep their song list fr...

fresh, but be careful what you wish for.

Bustin Loose and Dark Horse are both really good bands and we do miss Southern Express, but Sue and Eric need to really research their next steps to figure out what they want to do with Brandy's and go from there. Of course the patron comments need to be considered, but again keep in mind again, these comments/opinions are only from a few patrons that visit this site and not the comments/opinions of the large majority of patrons that continually visit Brandy's on the weekends.

One more thing to think about, all clubs and all bands have their slow nights/weekends... change is needed when those slow nights/weekend become the norm. And I don't believe that is the case in my recent experience visiting Brandy's myself.

Best of Luck to Sue and Eric and the bands that have the opportunity to perform at Brandy's. Brandy's is one of only a few nice places in the St Pete area that offers live country music. If you want Rock-n-Roll, go down ...

RE: Maybe more to consider: Dark horse, bustin loose, and southern express are good bands but they play the same songs every week. They dont play more current country songs and get the crowd up on there feet. six weeks in a row is to much....last saturday nite was dead at Brandys...wonder way...Some local bands have great following which brings more money in and gets these people to tell there friends about Brandys. Everybody knows everybody at Brandys...same people in the same seats. Lets mix it up the music selection so if some people like country they have there weekend...Then have some rock/southern music..but in the end, we all know the owner prefers country
John Boy |2010-05-13 11:33:23
So explain to me that if these bands you all are talking about are so good, where is their following? Their following is not showing up and not spending money. You all are saying it..." the same people in the same seats" That means nobody new is coming in except for maybe 2 tables of "fans" on a good night. If you want your bands to stay then maybe they need to get out there and get their "fans" to show up and spend some money!! I don't think Eric or Sue would want to get rid of them if the cash register was ringing...and who wants to hear the same band for 6 weeks straight, nobody, thats why its slow in there!! :s
Loyal Customer |2010-05-13 20:12:19
I for one have listened to several of these bands and like all of the ones mentioned above. As for bands being in here 6 weeks straight, I know for a fact that Bustin Loose is only playing 3 or 4 weeks on then 2 weeks off. I agree with the person above that stated every bar/band has it's off/dead nights. What a lot of you posting here need to realize is that recently there has been a lot of big name acts local at the amphitheater and dowtown Tampa. This certainly pulls from the crowd. If I had my way I would often go to those concerts rather than a local club. Also with baseball here and the summer concert series there is some people being drawn to sports bars. Don't get me wrong, I think that there should be some change in the song lists too, but I like the choice of bands (country/southern rock) that are here.
food for thought... if the crowd wants different songs maybe the bands could have a jar or sheet where people could list the songs they want to hear then the band co...

Look here is what I can tell people who post clearly dont know that their IP adress is shown and can be seen. Has anyone else noticed that The Loyal Customer that just wrote about the issues as to why the sales are down, also posted as anonymous back on 5-10 prasing Bustin Loose. Has anyone else noticed that Bustin Loose had no comments about them at all until after this weekend and now its like 5 a day since Tuesday again very fishy. Whoever is posting these posts clearly works in the band or is a friend/family member of one of the guys in the band. I read your posts and you know way too much about things no reg customer would think about. IE house pa system, the break down and sets ups etc... just seems really odd too me. I can tell you this much I am a customer here and like Bustin Loose, I loved Dark Horse etc... I have never cared one way or the other if a band has to break down at closing. I have never given a thought to if the bar has a house PA system. I know alot of people ...
A regular Customer |2010-05-13 21:49:52
I know alot of people and what I hear is that the house band is on way too much and need to play less. I would argue thats honestly the general opinion as well in the bar. I like Bustin Loose just not for 4 weeks in a row. I also think that if the bar wants too grow they need to get other bands in and their fans to build the business. Clearly the bar is not getting as much new blood as they need. I dont mind a rock bad or that girl with the pink hair from time to time just pleas ekeep it mostly southern rock and country. Thanks

I am a loyal customer and a big fan of the band. I love coming to Brandy's for lots of reasons. It's close to my home and the bands are normally pretty good. I think that there are several things that could make Brandy's a better place. I agree with some of the comments above and have gone back to read each of them. Some of you are right there are a couple of people who are using the same IP address to write but remember it may be two people in the same house that share a computer, although those of you who wish to remain anonymous should really think about that when posting. Now for my opinion, I know you didn't ask but I am going to give it to you anyway....
1. Drink Prices - Have you ever thought about it this way... Brandy's does not charge a cover charge on nights that they have bands, where a lot of clubs do. They may charge you a little more for your drinks but that helps to pay the band instead of charging a cover.

2. Two nights Two bands - While I think that vari...

What every decision management makes, having a band at Brandys is great.
loyal customer  - Last night rocked |2010-05-15 19:13:59
Last night was one of the better nights I have seen in a while in the bar. Lots of people drinking and dancing the band on was awesome. I had never seen them before, the place was packed despite having the Rays at home. I really liked the assortment of music that band played last night. A little new country a little classic rock a little 80's it was great. Please book them in more often, would love too see them again. =)

We stopped in Brandy's last night on our way to Tampa and we did not leave until they closed. The band was very entertaining and played our kind of music.

This is Eric and my real IP adress someone has been posting in here as me, not sure who it is but please stop. First let me say my mom and I do look at this site and we always take the opinions shared in this forum seriously. I wanted too say thanks to all who came out today for the Breast Cancer benefit,we raised over 1000 dollars. All the bands and volunteers did great thanks for your help.
curious....  - ip addresses |2010-05-17 22:47:14
funny how all the ip addresses have now been removed. makes you wonder who you can really trust on this site??? :eyebrow:
A loyal Customer |2010-05-18 03:50:37
Well its clear you can't trust Bustin loose they ahve clearly tried too use this site as their on perosnal sounding board. They know they are in trouble and are trying too save their jobs. How else can you explain all these recent Bustin Loose posts. i can tell you one thing they have more fans on this board than actually show up too the bar.Perhaps the band members need too spend more time getting their fans in the bar than self promoting themselves here.
A loyal Customer |2010-05-18 03:53:30
Not too mention I do think having Ip adresses visable is actually a breach of privacy, you can track down someone that way. It was probably done for security reasons. I go on a lot of blogs and never saw one with Ip adresses listed. Not sure if thats right but I know this was the first sight I have been on that showed them.
A loyal Customer |2010-05-18 03:59:23
Bustin Loose I am not trying to hammer you guys I like your band. I just think it's obvious someone in your band is posting on here for there own good. I like most bands that come in the bar , But I can't handle hearing you guys for 4 weeks in a row it's too much. I can tell you that's honestly what most people say. If you took the time to talk with the customers you would see this. This past weekend was swamped and all anyone could say was how thankful it was another band in and attendance was much larger than your last few weeks. I think you guys are hurting the business, its bad when a customer can see this.
another loyal customer |2010-05-27 18:50:04
Obviously you have no clue. Bustin Loose has been around a long time and they don't need the job. They all have jobs and play music for the fun of it. It is pretty sad that you know how long a band plays in a bar. It really urks me that Brandy's is allowing people to come on their sight and bash people they have no idea about.
